In an effort to make colonoscopy for those who need screening or repeat surveillance as easy as possible, Hillmont GI developed what we call an Open Access Policy whereby patients can answer questions about their current state of health on the telephone and be scheduled for their colonoscopy without the need for a prior office visit. We utilize a uniquely developed health questionnaire that is always reviewed by a GI caregiver to be sure that the procedure will be completely safe. This saves our patients additional lost time from work or their other activities and yet allows them to have their appropriate screening procedure safely. This policy, along with our free shuttle service, the lowest-volume preparations and the lack of co-pays for screening procedures, helps to remove as many barriers as possible for those who need screening colonoscopy to maintain their health.

Thoughtful and compassionate evaluation of your issues by one of our GI experts.

COLONOSCOPY – A visual examination of the large intestine, also known as the colon, used to explore possible causes of abdominal pain, rectal bleeding, chronic constipation, chronic diarrhea and other gastrointestinal problems. It is considered the most effective screening procedure for colon polyps and colon cancer.

CAPSULE ENDOSCOPY – A pill-size camera allows us to see the inside lining of the middle GI tract, including portions of the small intestine, which cannot be visualized by other procedures.

ENDOSCOPIC RETROGRADE CHOLANGIOPANCREATOGRAPHY (ERCP) – We diagnose and treat problems found in the ducts of the pancreas, liver and gallbladder; disorders like pancreatitis and gallstones.

ESOPHAGEAL MANOMETRY – A test that measures the pressures and movement inside the esophagus.

UPPER ENDOSCOPY (EGD) – Also known as esophagogastroduodenoscopy, a procedure used to determine the cause of gastrointestinal disorders and symptoms, including heartburn, hiatal hernia, abdominal pain, unexplained anemia, swallowing difficulties, upper GI bleeding and tumors or ulcerative colitis.

pH PROBE STUDIES – pH probe uses a small flexible tube to test the amount and seriousness of acid reflux, stomach acids that back up into the esophagus.

HEMORRHOIDAL BANDING – A nonsurgical procedure that places tiny rubber bands around the base of the hemorrhoids to cut off the circulation and alleviate symptoms.

PLACEMENT OF GASTRIC BALLOON – A nonsurgical weight loss procedure that places a silicone balloon in the stomach to reduce hunger and assist in keeping significant excess weight off long-term.
